When Helen was six years old, her parents hired a teacher named Annie Sullivan. Annie was determined to help Helen learn to communicate. With Annie’s help, Helen learns to read and write. She becomes very curious about the world around her.

As Helen grows up, she becomes a famous author and speaker. She travels around the country, sharing her story about people with disabilities. Helen’s determination and Annie’s support show the power of education and friendship.
